Age group model

During childhood phase (U6 to U11), LePa uses an age group model. In this phase, focus is on club coaching guidelines and building of club identity. Age group is divided internally into appropriate amount of training and playing groups. Moving between them is flexible (see Team guidelines). The principle is that all players form one big team, where operation is divided based on the motivation and the level of players so that it supports development of individuals. Decisions regarding this are made by club employees (head coach, chief of coaching).

Division into operating units

At U9 age, boys' age group is divided into operating units. Competitive team is for motivated players who aim to be competitive, high-level players. Challenge team is for players, who are not yet at the top level of their age group or don't aim for competitive career in football. Hobby team is for those who like to play football as a fun hobby. It is possible to move between units as motivation, skills and objectives change (see Team guidelines).

Moving to FC Honka Academy

At the end U11 year, some of the players (both boys and girls) are chosen to FC Honka Academy that is former. Academy is for motivated players who aim to be competitive, high-level players and whose skills and athleticism is at the top level nationally. Choices are made by Honka and LePa chiefs of coaching. Competitive team at LePa will continue also.

Youth stage

From U12 onwards, LePa has a possibility to play football at different levels.

For boys, operation continues in appropriate units. Competitive team is for motivated players aiming to be competitive athletes. Challenge and hobby teams work separately or together and operation is internally divided based on the motivation and the level of players so that it supports development of individuals.

For girls, continues to operate as one team, which is internally divided based on the motivation and the level of players so that it supports development of individuals. If age group is small, bigger groups can be formed by combining them.
