Team guidelines

Moving between teams

Target and operating principle of LePa is to have suitable footballing environment for children and youths in the club. The club has the right to make changes to the teams and move players between teams. Moving players from a team to another (e.g. from Competitive team to Challenge team or vice versa) are guided by the following principles:

  • Athleticism: how the player performs compared to others as an athlete?
  • Technical and tactical ability: how the player performs compared to others technically and tactically?
  • Activeness: how often player participates to training, games and other development events while also taking into account other possible sports hobbies
  • Motivation: enthusiasm and intensity in training and games
  • Behaviour: does the player behave appropriately towards others and according the team rules

Movement between teams primarily happens at the start of new season, but it is possible to make changes in the middle of season based on the principles and taking into account the following:

  • Child's opinion is heard
  • Change can be made against objections from the player or the parents in case dropping player from higher level team to lower level team
  • Decision about the move will include head coaches of both teams and chief of coaching

It is possible to move into a team from another club in the middle or the beginning of a season. Head coach and chief of coaching will ultimately decide what is the appropriate unit after trial period. Same principles apply as in internal moves.

Moving between playing groups inside a team

Movement between playing groups within a team / age group are completely up to head coach and coaching staff. Movement can happen between games (i.e. groups are dynamic). Internal moves can be made without organizing a hearing of the player/parents. Head coach will discuss with chief of coaching, if necessary.

Long breaks

If a player takes a long break (3 months or more) and there is a queue to the team, player is not automatically taken back. Instead the player goes to the queue. Exception to this can be made if player has long-term injury or illness or some other special circumstance that has been agreed upon before the break.
